One Shift, Many Names
The economy is being remade. Self-improving AI is the catalyst, but the transformation goes deeper than technology. Depending on the audience and the angle, I use different names for what is happening. They are all describing the same thing.
This is a reference page. A spine that connects the frameworks.
Elevator Economy
Some people and companies are going up. Everyone else is going down. There is no standing still. Some conservatives call this the K-shaped economy, but K implies two stable trajectories. The reality is more like an elevator with a cut cable: you are either ascending to infinity or in free fall.
This is the foundational observation. Everything else builds on it.
Imagination Economy
What emerges on the up side of the elevator. An economy where your imagination, backed by AI leverage and the right team, is the primary asset. Every industry is being reinvented by movements built around trustworthy people with infinitely scalable products.
When execution costs collapse to zero, the bottleneck moves to "what should we build?" That is an imagination question. And imagination cannot be automated.

Applied AI Economy
The practical, workforce-facing framing. Every industry is about to integrate applied AI or die. Applied AI literacy is the new prerequisite for participation in the economy. If you are not leveraging AI, you are being leveraged by someone who is.
This is the framing I use for Applied AI Society events and education.
Agent Economy
A synonym for the Applied AI economy with emphasis on autonomous agents as the building blocks. The economy increasingly runs on AI agents that are orchestrated by humans who understand how to build, direct, and govern them. The people who can do this well are the new essential technical role.
Divine Economy
The spiritual reality underneath all of it. Anything not built on the Spirit and blessed by God is going to crumble. Divine favor is the real competitive advantage. Some ventures are backed by God. Some are backed by darkness. Some have no favor at all and are just toys. We want divine favor on everything we build.
This is the framing I use with fellow believers and kingdom builders. It connects to The Truth Economy on my FaithWalk wiki.
Sovereignty Economy
Infrastructure for sovereignty is going to crush it. Satellite phones, true VPNs, owning your own compute, local-first AI, sovereign data. The products that help people own their own digital lives will win because people are waking up to how much they have given away.
This connects to the Soul Harness concept: liberating harnesses amplify your sovereignty over time, while predatory harnesses make you dependent.
Survivor Economy
Every legacy company that is not built on the Spirit and not leveraging AI is playing a game of Survivor right now. Internally, AI is sorting employees into adapters and everyone else. Across industries, it is competition for who survives the compression. Companies that were already on shaky foundations are going the way of the dinosaurs.
This is the urgency framing. Good for waking up executives and legacy businesses.
How They Connect
All seven names describe facets of the same shift:
- Elevator Economy is the macro observation (up or down, no standing still)
- Imagination Economy is what the winners are building (the up side)
- Survivor Economy is what the losers are experiencing (the down side)
- Applied AI / Agent Economy is the technical mechanism (how the shift works)
- Divine Economy is the spiritual reality (who actually wins long term)
- Sovereignty Economy is the infrastructure layer (what the winners build on)
Pick the framing that serves the person you are talking to. They are all true at the same time.
The economy has many names because the shift is so large that no single lens captures it. Use the name that opens the door for whoever you are speaking with.
