Habechina

Habesha meets China at the feet of Jesus. Slow UK garage under Ethiopian pentatonic color and Chinese strings, with a voice that mostly hums and, when it speaks, says His name in Amharic and Mandarin.

Oil painting in deep navy and warm gold: at night, a black clay Ethiopian jebena pours a thin stream of coffee into a blue-and-white Chinese porcelain teacup, the steam rising in white-gold ribbons beside a smoking frankincense burner, a woven mesob basket and a gauzy white cloth at the edges.

The Christofuturist. Made with Suno, October 2026. An honorific record for the music I love, modern and traditional: two-step and deep sub-bass carrying the krar, the erhu and the five-note scales the two traditions share. One cover for the whole record.
